Last fall, thousands of ACE supporters and coalition activists came together to speak up for green space in Roxbury. Mayor Walsh was steamrolling ahead with a plan that would cut down 124 of the big, mature trees along Melnea Cass Boulevard, destroying a crucial part of the little green space left in Roxbury.

But it worked -- and we won! If you have Facebook, please help us get the word out by liking and sharing this Facebook post:

After nearly 10 years of speaking out on this project, we're looking forward to a design process with robust community engagement and input. I know we can come up with a better solution that promotes bikes, pedestrians, and transit -- while also respecting the needs of the Black community in Roxbury.

Melnea Cass was an outspoken advocate for Black Boston. I think this is a fine way to honor her: by continuing to build power for Black Bostonians, by demanding better for our community.

Thanks for being part of this fight.

Dwaign, on behalf of everyone at ACE
